Vintage Japanese pottery appetizer or serving plate, in the Japanese art pottery likely in the traditional Karatsu or Shino style, featuring a hand painted bamboo or grass.

The design is deeply rooted in Japanese ceramic tradition, heavily influenced by the work of renowned 18th century potter Ogata Kenzen.

The design, featuring bold calligraphic brushstrokes of a dark pigment depicting bamboo, is characteristic of the Edo Period (1615-1856) style. Such ceramics are often highly valued.
